School Coffee Shop

One of our favorite projects of the year was the construction of this school coffee shop.

The Vision

The school wanted to create a coffee hub to provide their students with a unique opportunity to gain valuable work experience and life skills within the school community. The new facilities needed to be fit for purpose so that students studying City and Guilds Barista Skills, Hospitality and Catering could ensure the prospect of putting lessons into practice. This would also promote the gaining of valuable practical experience to prepare them for the world of work.

The Project

The school provided us with an initial design for the new coffee shop which had a very professional feel to it. Works started with the complete strip out of an existing office which included exposing the services above the original ceiling to create an industrial look. New flooring was laid and the shop was decorated throughout with a feature brick wall being added. In addition, bespoke handmade furniture, counters and shelving were installed. As part of the project, we provided all of the appliances and furniture which included the tables and chairs.

As the project progressed, we worked closely with the school to ensure that we achieved their vision.

The Final Touch

To complete the project, final finishing touches were added by the school’s students who provided artwork and sculptures which provided a contemporary feel to compliment the internal design and atmosphere of the new coffee shop.
