Primary School Reception Reconfiguration

We were awarded this primary school reception reconfiguration works by New Road Primary School in Chatham, Kent. The project entailed creating a modern, contemporary reception area that also provides a secure working environment for the staff. The works involved forming a large opening between the school office and waiting area, where we installed a large glazed screen. This new feature enables the staff and visitors to clearly communicate.

Building Regulations – Fire Shutter

To ensure that the works complied with building regulations, a fire shutter was installed to the office side of the glass screen. The shutter automatically closes off the opening in the event of fire. Additionally, we installed a new set of fire doors that have a magnetic lock to improve security. This means that no person can work through into other areas of the school unless authorised by a member of the school staff. To complete the project the whole area was completely decorated and new was flooring laid.
